[caption id="attachment_142" align="alignnone" width="700" caption="Crowd getting into action"][/caption] Organized by Sailing Club ''LABUD'', on Sunday 20.09.2009. at 11 am in Split, started the traditional 78th Mrduja Race. Sailing Boats started regatta from ACI marina near Zvončac after the shot indicated start. Sailing to 11 nautical miles Mrduja remote island, where boats cyrcled and went back towards the goal of Zvončac. Unlike last year, when wind was strong, this year all the Sailing Boats started by Bonaca (calm sea), light Mistral was blowing and partly Tramontana and the weather was sunny all day. Islet Mrduja by which this race is named, is the turnstile or auxiliary objective on the route Split-Mrduja-Split- long 22 miles. The first regatta was held in October 1927th, and was holding all to 1940. Than it restored after the war, and in 1946 was held again at the end of September.
