One of the most popular routes is Dubrovnik to Split or vice-versa. Today we present you with one 7-days route.

Day 1.

Split

Arriving to Split (by a car or a plane ), and checking in ACI Marina, Split. If you like, while you there, you can take a tour around the Split. You can visit Diocletian Palace for an example.
Diocletian, Roman Emperor, built the vast palace for his own retirement 1700 years ago, a structure measuring 700 feet by 600 feet (215 by 180 m), centuries later developing into a medieval town and today the busy core of Split, even containing a hotel, the old Hotel Slavija. Along the southern palace wall, a magnificent palm-clad promenade, Riva, stretches away westwards. Today, it is renowned for its variety of archaeological, historical and cultural monuments among them the UNESCO listed Diocletian Palace. Walk through the Grad area while noticing all the different styles and materials used in the construction and renovation of the palace.  Head out of the eastern Iron Gate to find a good spot for lunch and then continue along the Riva toward Marjan for a relaxing afternoon by the sea. Then going onboard and sailing away from the Split harbour to the island of Solta, in a small harbour Sesula, where you can have nice dinner in a local restaurant.

SPECIAL REPORT FROM 78th REGATTA OF MRDUJA

Crowd getting into action

Crowd getting into action

Organized by Sailing Club ”LABUD”, on Sunday 20.09.2009. at 11 am in Split, started the traditional 78th Mrduja Race. Sailing Boats started regatta from ACI marina near Zvončac after the shot indicated start. Sailing to 11 nautical miles Mrduja remote island, where boats cyrcled and went back towards the goal of Zvončac.

Unlike last year, when wind was strong, this year all the Sailing Boats started by Bonaca (calm sea), light Mistral was blowing and partly Tramontana and the weather was sunny all day.

Record of Regatta is dated back to 1973rd, when the Sailing Boat named Podgora went through a goal in only two hours and 20 minutes. But the new record has been achieved last year by Sailing Boat ”Umago Shining”,

First Turn on Mrduja - "Umago Shining" the Winner!

whose crew with skipper Rajko Kujundzic reached the record of 2 hours and 16 minutes.

This year the record was not ”shot down”, although very fast and without real competition, came first to the goal a winner of the regatta- Speeder Umago Shining with more than 15 crew members.

In addition to experienced Yacht Crews, who fought for victory, there were those ones for who the result was not in the foreground, but they used the advantage of this opportunity for a pleasant trip to the sea.

Presentation ceremony was scheduled at 20.30 pm in a tent of Labud on Zvončac, and one hour later followed by an entertainment program, where Marijan Ban sang and took care of people’s mood. We must point out that Sailing Club Labud, organizer of the ceremony and night program, celebrated his 85 birthday that night!

When summarizing the entire regatta, I can say that it was very successfull

We enjoyed so much. Hope to see you next Year!

event and a special experience that you can really feel only if you participate.
