Saturday: Split & Maslinica
First day is reserved to prepare yourself for the trip, check-in in ACI Marina and if you want to, meet Split, the biggest town on Croatian coast with 1700 years old history. When you arrive in Split, and check yourself in, first you’ll get opportunity to relax, acclimatize yourself, enjoy in coffee and lunch on one of the most beautiful seasides in the world, discover about UNESCO protected Diocletian’s Palace which is placed in the middle of today busy city core and then you’ll go aboard and sail away from the Split harbor to the island Šolta, or to be exact, towards Maslinica – small nautical destination on the west side of the Island Šolta. This is a place where you will realize that Croatia has much more to offer than you expected.
After meeting the oldest town on our coast, spending romantic night in cosy Maslinica, it will be time to sail towards town Vis on Island of Vis. Incredible journey where you’ll experience true meaning of sailing. You’ll discover full potential of your boat, her comfort, her performance and her luxury and you won’t be able to hesitate not to try sailing or just help your skipper do a little bit of sail trimming, sail hoisting, navigation or even steering. Town Vis is placed on the north side of the island and represents his peaceful nature, while south part of the island is completely different. Vis was always important strategical and political place, but just recently it becomes important tourist destination with a lot of attractions. After relaxing from a long sailing, trying out some of the local specialties you’ll have the rest of the day and night to absorb local way of life.
Monday: Bisevo & Komiza
After you fall in love with town Vis you’ll set the sails towards Biševo. It is a small island less than 4 miles from Island of Vis. The biggest attraction on the island is the Blue Cave, which invariably leaves a strong impression on visitors. The unspoiled beauty of nature will give you back the freshness, energy and surely fill you with unforgettable memories. Next place, which we labeled as “must see” is Komiža, friendly town on the south side of the island. South side of the island is shaped by the sea and wind, full of steep cliffs. But every now and then you’ll see some secret bay and beach and you’ll have to dive in. After long day you’ll find a dock in Komiža and once again find out that Croatia has to offer way more than you expected. Probably your skipper will advise you to relax aboard and soak up the moment or appoint you to the best place for gastro offer.
Tuesday: Pakleni Islands & Hvar
Fourth day is reserved for Island of Hvar, town Hvar and small archipelago in front of town Hvar, which is called Pakleni Islands. After few hours of sailing from Komiža towards Hvar first you’ll reach Pakleni Islands. Tiny archipelago (of about twenty islets) extend along the south side of Hvar, so beautiful that you’ll have to remind yourself to take breathe sometimes. Before you settle down your emotions regarding Pakleni Islands, you’ll be moored in town Hvar. Hvar is an island of sunshine and crickets, lavender, sage, rosemary and wine. Take a walk through the harbour town and be sure to sample some of the local wines and spirits, as well as fish and crustaceans, fished by Hvar fishermen. Hvar is also known by the great nightlife. Carpe Diem, a famous cocktail bar close to the docking place, has become a trademark of Hvar Town.
Fifth day should be called beach hunting. When you set the sels from Hvar Port your skipper will probably offer you to visit some local secret beaches, but be smart say “no” and head on towards the Bol on Island Brač, one of the top beaches in the world. It got crystal blue sea, coffee bars, cocktail bars, restaurants, it is full of life, from early morning till late night. Bol on Island Brač is a place where you will have opportunity to spend a day on one of the prettiest beach in the world and taste some of the best specialities in the world. You’ll also spend a night on Brač, if you don’t arrange something else with a skipper, some quiet bay or close place. You’ll spend the night in Bol or somewhere around, you’ll decide with your skipper, and this will be time when even the most stubborn person will admit herself: “Wow…What a journey?! ”
After enjoying in morning on Bol and refreshing breakfast you’ll departure towards your next destination. Your skipper will help you to find a nice hidden bay and anchor there so you can have it completely for yourself. After relaxing day, you’ll enter deep bay of Milna, also on Island Brač, to enjoy evening in this beautiful city. The settlement is built mostly in a typical Mediterranean style. Stone built houses, neat little alleys, peace and quiet are the initial evidence of the cultural splendor of former times. It developed in the 16th century when an aristocratic family decided to build a fortress and church there. Milna also offers sand and gravel beaches stretching along the coast.
After waking up in Milna and enjoying in a morning walk around, your skipper will have a problem with getting you back on board because you’ll refuse to leave. After enjoying in Milna or taking a swim in some nearby coves and bays or even visiting Nečujam you’ll leave towards Split where you’ll spend the last night aboard
Split will be your port of embarkation, but also a final port of disembarkation. Which is great because you’ll have to come back to Split and see more of it. But of course, you’ll have enough time to cruise a little bit towards some beaches in the area, see more of Croatian Coast, or just to relax aboard your boat, before you decide that it is time to tie ropes in ACI Split.
